WEEK 6

It was really week full of experience and knowledge. We had a lot of work and fun.

Monday, it was work on our weblogs and then we had a chat about the danish school system and cultural dimensions with our tutor Jette. Danish school system is similar to ours but we can find there a few differences. In the afternoon we took a walk with Jette around Haderslev. She showed us many interesting places such shops and sights.

Tuesday was very interesting day too. In the morning we learnt something new about danish storytellers, especially about Hans Christian Andersen. We tried to retell some of his fairy tales. Kate, Iva and me, we were talking about fairy tale called „The Story of mother“.

In the same day, first Danish language lesson was waiting for us. We learnt how to say „hello“, „goodbye“, „what’s your name“, „my name is“, „I live in“ and so on in danish.

(Dav!Jeg hedder Sylvie. Jeg bor i Tjekiet – Hi! My name is Sylvie. I live in The Czech RepublicJ)

Our teachers Sheila and Lejf were very nice to us. The last lesson of this day was „Language and Identity“ with international students. It was lesson full of thinking about our knowledge of languages and about our native language. We used colors for expression of our feelings. It was really exciting day.

On Wednesday, we had a lot of fun. Within the module 2 „Aesthetic learning processes“ we were dancing, telling a story with noise, singing english and african songs, we tried mime-play and drawing abstract pictures accordance with certain piece. We also got a present – flute and homework - listen to the music and write a story, draw a picture and so on. In the evening we had lecture about using IT in english lessons.

On Thursday, we visited danish school for first time. Kate, Manu, Daniel and me, we went to Hertug Hans skole. Manu and me, we inspected classes 6.B and 7.B. They had English lessons with teacher named Helle Lind. In the afternoon, we met Jette and we were talking about our impressions. We met the cooking class too, we made agreement, what we will cook next week. And than Jette surprised us…J she gave us a quiz about Haderslev and we had to try to find the answers to tasks. In the end of this tiring adventure we gave a meed - tea and genuine danish cake. Yumm.

On Friday, we had lessons within module 3 „Citizenship and globalisation“. We were talking about nationality, citizenship, current problems in the world and so on…In the evening we went to the fancy dress party, but in the end we finished the evening all together (except Tim) with glasses of wine at our place.

On Saturday, Kate and Daniel cooked delicious dinner for us. It was salmon with spinach and rice and vegetebles. We were watching movie Knights tale. On Sunday we cleaned our flat…
