WEEK 12

Trips and fun
We had a week full of traveling around Denmark :-)
We visited big cities and the small towns as well. We knew some new things, people and places..and finally we have already known what sun means here in Denmark because sun was shining almost whole week...Now it's sunday night and it's snowing...

Monday: Lögumkloster, Mögletönder, Tönder

There aren't many places in the world where you could feel like you're in fairytales...We visited such place. Little coloured houses with strawy roofs and small benches. Whole street lined by trees and lamps...

Tuesday: Egeskov and Odense

At first we left to Egeskov, the most beautiful castle in Denmark, but unfortunately it was closed. In Odense we visited Hans Christian Andersen's museum, we saw his house, botanic gardens and a lot of churches...We met Daniel and his friends, Tim and Finja there. In the end it was unpleasant report for us. We got fined for parking... But it was nice day after all.

Wednesday: Haderslev-harbor and great dinner

On Wednesday we had the day off, so we went to the harbor in Haderslev. It was nice weather again and we had really nice walk. We had a plan for the evening so we went to buy some drinks and food because we were invited for dinner at Tim's place. We were 12 persons at he table. Fresh salad and brusketa with tomatoes as starter, a lot of kinds of pizza (tuna, salami, ham, cheese, vegetables, champions, ...) and pancakes with strawberry jam and sirup at the end. It was fine evening. The others continued in Tribunen after dinner where was night concert. We went to sleep because we were very tired and we had to get up early on Thursday...for next trip...

Thursday: Arhus

On Thursday it was our journey to Arhus, to northernmost place of our plans. At first traffic jam waited for us. It took about 1 hour. At first we wanted to see mummy of 2000 years old man. But price wasn't so low, so we walked around areal and we saw some viking and thailand's houses at least. We visited open-air museum Den Gamble By, so it was main event of the day. We spent almost 3 hours there, we could see lifestyle in H.C.Andersen's era. Because Thursday was feast day, most of sights were closed.

Friday: Ribe and Esbjerg

Our last big trip in this week was on programme on Friday. At first we left to Ribe. We have already visited this town with other students during international week but we wanted to see more than we saw last time. We took a walk through the town. We walked in nice streets, we visited some shops with design products. After we tasted chococafe and hot chocolade in cute café. And than we visited church finally, because in the morning it was closed for devine servise here. Otík and me, we walked up the church tower and we watched surroundings from bird's-eye view. About 1 p.m. we left to Esbjerg (fishing port, funcionalistic bulding of the town hall). City was quite quiet. But we wanted to see ocean so we went to the seaside and we found big statues and amazing view on Atlantic ocean. Because it's strange to be in coats at sea shore we had to take them off and just lied down to sand...as you can see on the picture.

Satur
day: Birthday party

On Saturday it was our celebration day. Iva and me we celebrated our birthdays. We had the party at our place, Thora, Tim and his friend Frederik came too. It was fine evening.

Sunday 9 March 2008

WEEK 10

On the Monday morning we had lesson of comparative studies with Tove Heideman. In the afternoon, it was citizenship with Torbjorn. After school I went to exercise to the gym and in the evening I had a rest.

On Tuesday we had English lesson. We were talking about how to learn vocabulary, we played some games to train our memory. We made analysis of painting. Our group had picture called Nighthawks of Edward Hopper. In the afternoon we had the last Danish lesson. We learnt new words, some food and drinks. Sheila and Leif brought some cookies and tea for us. It was very nice of them.

I woke up with terrible sore throat on Wednesday. I went to the school only for 2 lessons. It was dancing lessons, but I wasn’t dancing, I only took pictures of the others. They were trying to dance some country dances and tango. It was fine but in the afternoon I had to go to bed, I felt really bad. The others made up some new dances, they made movies of it. They are great!!

On Thursday morning I had a higher temperature and I had a cold, but I got up because I want to see another school which Jette has chosen for us for our practice. It is the biggest public school in Haderslev called St. Severin school. Iva, Manu, Tim and me, we visited two English lessons. Teachers were very nice and opened with us as well as with their pupils.

After practice I went home, the others had music concert at school and the English lesson. In the evening they went to the Tribunen for quiz with Mette. Because I felt very sick I stayed at home till the end of the week. But it was pity because the others had really full programme every day which I stayed in bed. For example karaoke party on Friday, where Kate was singing too!!! But obviously the winner was Daniel because his singing is just perfect.

On Saturday Kate, Iva, Finja, Tim and Daniel went to the trip to Jels and Christiansfeld. In the evening, there was a party at Iva’s and Charlotte’s place along with Lasse’s music group concert in the pub. On Sunday I was reading books for my thesis for whole day.

Sunday 2 March 2008

WEEK 9

We enjoyed another nice and pleasant 7 days…

Monday we visited boarding school in Hoptrup. We gained a lot of new knowledge. The pupils in this art school were very open-minded, free and creative. The atmosphere was marked by friendships and conviviality. I think the photos say everything. We finished our trip at 6 p.m. at the Haderslev bus station, but nobody regretted it.

On Thusday in the morning we had our module 7 for a first time. Kate, Iva, Daniel and me, we chose English lessons with Jette, Charlotte chose music in Danish and Tim and Manu chose PE. It was a nice change; we could meet many another Danish students. We saw Monica and Carsten again. In our first lesson, we were talking about USA, their main symbols. In the afternoon, we had a very funny and nice Danish lesson. We learnt a lot of new words, only substantives. We played with cards in 2 groups. We tried to guess how are the things on the cards called and so on. In the evening we were finishing our project with Kate for next day for the lesson Aesthetic learning processes.

Fleming Rasmussen was waiting for us on the Wednesday morning. He told us how can art and aesthetics influence the learning processes…After him Else Marie’s lessons came. We performed our project live. I think it was really interesting to observe how the others are good in acting. In the afternoon we went to the gym.

special for you...Iva and Sylvie: Maculela

Thursday was very long and exciting day. In the morning we were talking about our Monday visit at boarding school with Torbjorn. We contrasted the differences between our school system and Danish school system. In the afternoon we had 2 and half English lessons, we learnt a song, played with USA map, we talked about American values and symbols again etc. In the evening three of us went to say good-bye to Finja and Borries, I was working on my thesis, Charlotte, Iva and Manu were tired. Really hard day.

Friday morning was about citizenship and globalism again. We were talking about our school systems and how to educate students to become active citizens in these dimensions: political and identity. And the main question of the day was what challenges do we consider to be some of the biggest today and how would we solve them…In the afternoon it was another Danish lesson. We tried to make up some simple sentences. In the evening we visited Friday café, just for chatting and drinking cheap beer.

Everybody except me went to Germany to shop for drinks and food on Saturday. At the weekend I was working on my thesis and doing other things for our lessons, and I cleaned up our flat.
